MobileMoney Fintech Limited hosted a stakeholder exchange on 2 April in Accra, bringing together fintech and banking executives to address organised digital fraud across the payments ecosystem.

Shaibu Haruna, CEO of MMFL, led the session alongside Clara Arthur of GhIPSS, Owuraku Asare of the Bank of Ghana, and Stephen Tefeh of Stanbic Bank.

The session outlined four priorities: capacity building for agent networks, joint industry fraud attack plans, mobile money innovation labs, and expanded public education campaigns. Industry leaders pushed for cross-institutional data sharing and a unified response framework. With 19 million active MoMo customers and GHS 4.1 trillion in digital payments last year, the exposure is no longer theoretical.

The exchange is the first of what MMFL said would be regular forums with ecosystem partners.
