Kadijah Amoah, CEO of Pecan Energies Ghana Limited, has been named to the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leaders class of 2026.

Amoah is the first Ghanaian woman to lead an oil and gas exploration and production company. She was previously the first Black woman to hold an Executive Management Team role at Aker Energy AS, the Norwegian energy firm whose Ghana assets became Pecan Energies after Africa Finance Corporation acquired 100 percent of the share capital in April 2023.

Pecan Energies is developing the Deepwater Tano/Cape Three Points block, located 115 kilometres offshore Ghana at 2,400 to 2,700 metres depth. Estimated reserves are up to 334 million barrels of oil equivalent. Phase 1 capital expenditure is projected at $3.5 billion with a plateau production rate of 110,000 barrels per day. Partners include Lukoil Overseas Ghana Tano at 38 percent, Fueltrade at 2 percent, and GNPC at 10 percent.

Amoah holds an Executive MBA from Oxford's Said Business School and previously served as Head of Investments and Business Development in the Office of the Vice President. She led the government's engagement with the Millennium Challenge Corporation and the UK-Ghana Business Council. She is an Eisenhower Fellow and was named Female Energy Personality of the Year at the 2023 Ghana Energy Awards.

The WEF Young Global Leaders programme, established in 2004, recognises over 100 leaders from 50 countries annually. Alumni include former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales.
