Shaibu Haruna is the chief executive of MobileMoney Fintech Limited, the standalone fintech entity that began operations on 31 March after the statutory merger of MobileMoney Limited into the new company.
Haruna previously led the mobile money division within MTN Ghana, overseeing its growth to GHS 6 billion in annual revenue and 19.3 million active users.
He now runs a business where MTN Dutch Holdings BV holds 70% and the MTN Ghana Fintech Trust holds 30%. The board has targeted a GSE listing for 2028 to 2030, and Haruna's task is to build the independent governance and performance record needed to get there.
