Ecobank Ghana has appointed Naa Alhassan Andani as board chairman, effective March 26, 2026.
Andani previously served as Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Ghana, where he led the bank through a period of significant balance sheet growth. He is also a former President of the Ghana Association of Banks, with more than 36 years of experience in corporate and investment banking, financial management, and governance.
The appointment comes as the banking sector faces tighter BoG capital requirements and increased competition for corporate and retail deposits. Andani's background in strategic leadership and his relationships across the financial sector position him to steer the board through the current cycle.
